Abstract

Indonesian rice production has increased year by year, but has not been able to meet all of the community's rice needs. The increasing globalization has caused food needs of each country to be higher.

This research is entitled "Analysis of Factors Affecting the Amount of Imports of Rice in Indonesia per quarter in 2010-2017". The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of factors on the amount of rice imports in Indonesia. The analytical method used in this study is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis using the Ordinary Least Squere (OLS) approach which is used to estimate the variables in this study. The research data uses time series data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and World Bank.

The results of simultaneous research on domestic rice production (X1), rice consumption (X2), international rice prices (X3) and local rice prices (X4) can significantly influence the amount of rice imports (Y). Rice consumption, international rice prices and local rice prices have a significant effect and domestic rice production has no significant effect on the amount of Indonesian rice imports.
